My passion and commitment for over 35 years is public health with a focus on integrative holistic health education, behavior change, and training. I hold graduate degrees in public health (with a specialization in health education/health behavior) and instructional systems design (with a specialization in training and distance learning).
In addition to being a public health professional, I am a modern-day meditation teacher who integrates traditional Eastern meditation and contemporary, research-based Western practices. As a certified teacher of the Enneagram, InnerLife coach, and a practitioner of bio-spiritual focusing I know the value of exploring and integrating our inner and outer worlds. Over the years I've studied the growth and development that occurs in the second half of life and I facilitate small groups of men and women over age 50 who are ready to step into the full, rich wholeness of life.
Each of us has an outer world and an inner world. You experience your outer world with external awareness; you experience your inner world with internal awareness. Both kinds of awarenesses may be enhanced through different meditative practices.
As a public health professional for over 35 years, I have worked with governmental, non-profit, and private, health-related organizations to develop national and local health education and training programs in all areas of health. I work with national experts to develop training programs for health care, public health, and mental health professionals at the national, State, and local levels.
As an instructional designer, online teacher, and faculty development specialist, I have designed, developed, and delivered over two dozen courses in higher education.
Fortunately, our culture's limited view of aging is undergoing a profound reconceptualization and we are in the initial stages of the conscious aging movement. A contemporary and compelling new vision is emerging that includes full self-expression, continued intellectual growth, meaningful work, authentic & loving relationships, taking care of unfinished business and living in integrity with ourselves.
